My MLB 2020 Predictions

Here are My MLB 2020 Predictions

The baseball season starts tomorrow in a 60-game season. There are teams that always start out slow in the first 60 games and teams that start out fast. Every game is going to matter this year.

  *Wild Card Team

     AL East

      1.  NY Yankees

 *   2.  Tampa Bay

      3.  Boston

      4.  Toronto

      5.  Baltimore

       AL East thoughts: The Yankees are the favorites in the AL East this year. They add Gerrit Cole to their rotation this year. The Yankees we know have a powerful lineup. The Rays are the biggest threat to the Yankees in this division. They have a great starting pitching and a pretty good lineup in their own right. The Red Sox are rebuilding by trading away both Mookie Bettis and David Price. The Blue Jays and Orioles are the bottom feeders in this division.

       AL Central

       1.  Minnesota

       2.  Chi White Sox

       3.  Cleveland

       4.  Kansas City

        5.  Detroit

         AL Central thoughts: The Twins are the favorites to win the AL Central. Their lineup got even better when they added Josh Donaldson and Nelson Cruz in the off-season. The Twins pitching is still in question, but their offense will be enough to win the division. The White Sox added Dallas Keuchel, Yasmani Grandal, Edwin Encarnacion and Gio Gonzalez to their team in the off-season. They can challenge the Twins for the division this year. The Indians are rebuilding as their window as shut. The Royals and Tigers are both bottom feeders in this division.

         AL West

         1.  Houston

  *     2.  Oakland

         3.  LA Angels

         4.  Texas

         5.  Seattle

          AL West thoughts:  Despite the off-season the Astros had they are still the favorites to win the division. The A's can challenge the Astros like they did last year in the division. The Angels, Rangers and Mariners all are still chasing in this division. It is a 2-team race between the Astros and A's.

          AL Wild Card: Rays over A's

          AL Championship Series: Yankees over Astros

          NL East

          1.  Washington

     *   2.  Atlanta

          3.  Philadelphia

           4.  NY Mets

           5.  Miami

           NL East thoughts: Starting pitching is going to be key in a 60-game season and the Nationals have that. The Nationals have a 1 to 2 punch in Stephen Strasburg and Max Scherzer. They also have a good lineup despite losing Anthony Rendon in the off-season. The Nationals also have an improved bullpen. The Braves also have an improved bullpen by signing Will Smith in the off-season. They lost Josh Donaldson, but replace that bat with Marcell Ozuna. The Phillies did not address pitching while the Mets did not address their offense. The Marlins are still rebuilding.

             NL Central

           1.  Milwaukee

      *   2.  Cincinnati

            3.  St.Louis

            4.  Chi Cubs

             5.  Pittsburgh

            NL Central thoughts: The Brewers are the favorites to win the division and will likely run away with it. The Reds will be the Wild Card team in this division because they added pitching and offense this off-season. The Cardinals had a magical year and I don't see that happening in a 60-game season. The Cubs window has closed. They are going to need offense and a bullpen, but there are still questions on both. The Pirates are rebuilding in this division.

             NL West

             1.  LA Dodgers

             2.  Arizona

             3.  San Diego

              4.  Colorado

               5.  San Francisco

               NL West thoughts: This is the Dodgers last chance in winning a World Series with their current roster. Their key players in Clayton Kershaw, Kenley Jansen, Justin Turner and A.J Pollock are all 32 or older. If they are going to win the World Series they need to do it this year. The D-Backs have questions about their starting pitching while the Padres still have questions on their offense. The Rockies and Giants are both rebuilding teams this year.

               NL Wild Card: Atlanta over Cincinnati

               NL Championship Series: LA Dodgers over Atlanta

               World Series: LA Dodgers over NY Yankees
