NFL Week 9 2020 Preview and Predictions

Here are My NFL Week 9 2020 Preview and Predictions

          Week 8 Record: 7-7

          Overall Record: 73-40-1

          Upset Pick Record: 3-5

          Lock Pick Record: 7-1

          Thursday Night Football-Marquee Game

Green Bay Packers [5-2] at San Francisco 49ers [4-4]

         TV: FOX/NFL Network/Amazon Prime

Time: 8:20 PM ET/7:20 PM CT

Thoughts: This is a rematch of last year's NFC Championship game. The 49ers blew out the Packers in 2 games last year. The 49ers have won 4 out of last 5 meetings against the Packers at home. They really need to win this game as they are in last place in the tough NFC West. The 49ers are 7th in the NFL in rushing and the Packers have been dominated on the ground in 2 out of last 3 games.

          Prediction: 49ers win 27-17

Marquee Sunday 1:00 PM ET/12:00 PM CT Game

Seattle Seahawks [6-1] at Buffalo Bills [6-2]

TV: FOX in Pacific Northwest, Western New York and New England

Thoughts: This is a step up game for the Bills. They are 3-2 against teams over .500, but the last 2 games they played against those teams they lost both games and scored just 16.5 ppg. Josh Allen needs to get back on track. He has struggled over the last 4 games throwing for 846 yards with just 4 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. The Seahawks are last in the NFL in pass defense which is what the Bills can take advantage of. The Seahawks are averaging 34.2 ppg this season. Russell Wilson is playing at a high level. The Bills defense really needs to step up for them to win.

           Prediction: Bills win 38-35

Other Sunday 1:00 PM ET/12:00 PM CT Games

Baltimore Ravens [5-2] at Indianapolis Colts [5-2]

          TV: CBS

Thoughts: This is gonna be another tough match-up for the Ravens offense. The Colts have a great defense. They are 2nd in pass defense, 1st in rush defense, 14th in the NFL in sacks and have allowed just 19.4 ppg this season. The Colts offense is starting to pick it up. They have averaged 31.6 ppg in the last 3 games. The Ravens need Lamar Jackson to be the M.V.P version to have a chance to win this game. Lamar Jackson has been good this year, but nothing like he was during his M.V.P season.

          Prediction: Colts win 24-21

Chicago Bears [5-3] at Tennessee Titans [5-2]

TV: FOX in Tennessee and the Midwest

Thoughts: This is a must win game for both teams. Both teams enter this game on 2-game losing streaks. The Bears have scored just 16.5 ppg during their 2-game losing streak while the Titans have allowed 29 ppg during their 2-game losing streak. Something has to give between these 2 teams. The Titans are better offensively and that will make the difference in this game. They are averaging 29.7 ppg this season.

            Prediction: Titans win 28-17

Denver Broncos [3-4] at Atlanta Falcons [2-6]

TV: CBS in Atlanta and Rocky Mountains

            Prediction: Falcons win 38-28

Detroit Lions [3-4] at Minnesota Vikings [2-5]

TV: CBS in Michigan and Upper Midwest

            Prediction: Vikings win 35-23

New York Giants [1-7] at Washington Football Team [2-5]

TV: FOX in Mid-Atlantic and New York City

Prediction: Washington Football Team win 21-10

            Unwatchable Game of the Week

Houston Texans [1-6] at Jacksonville Jaguars [1-6]

TV: CBS in Texas and North Florida

            Prediction: Texans win 20-3

            Lock Pick of the Week

Carolina Panthers [3-5] at Kansas City Chiefs [7-1]

            TV: FOX

Thoughts: This is a mismatch between these two teams. The Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl Champions while the Panthers are rebuilding. The Panthers have come back down to earth after their 3-2 start has they have lost 3 straight games. They are averaging just 19 ppg and allowing 25 ppg during their 3-game losing streak. The Chiefs are easily the best team in the NFL as they are scoring an average of 31.6 ppg while allowing just 19 ppg this season.

            Blowout: Chiefs win 45-17

Marquee Sunday 4:00 PM ET/3:00 PM CT Game

Miami Dolphins [4-3] at Arizona Cardinals [5-2]

TV: CBS in Arizona and South Florida

Thoughts: This is the battle of the surprise teams this year. The Dolphins are averaging 31.6 ppg while allowing just 11.3 ppg during their 3-game winning streak. They are winning by an average of 20.3 ppg during their 3-game winning streak. This is a big test as they play the Cardinals. The Cardinals had a week to prepare for the Dolphins. The Cardinals are averaging 29 ppg while allowing 20.8 ppg this season.

              Prediction: Cardinals win 27-20

Other Sunday 4:00 PM ET/3:00 PM CT Games

Pittsburgh Steelers [7-0] at Dallas Cowboys [2-6]

             TV: CBS

Thoughts: This game will be close than people think because the Steelers play to the level of their competition. The Steelers struggled to put away the Broncos and Eagles at home this year. They are coming off 2 big road wins at the Titans and Ravens in the last 2 weeks. The Cowboys have been really bad in the last 3 weeks. They are scoring just 7.3 ppg and losing by an average of 21.3 ppg in their 3-losing streak. The Steelers will win this game, but they will have a letdown game this week.

            Prediction: Steelers win 24-14

Las Vegas Raiders [4-3] at Los Angeles Chargers [2-5]

TV: FOX in California, Nevada and Colorado

            Prediction: Raiders win 28-17

            Sunday Night Football

New Orleans Saints [5-2] at Tampa Bay Buccaneers [6-2]

            TV: NBC

Time: 8:20 PM ET/7:20 PM CT

Thoughts: The Saints won the Week 1 meeting, but the Buccaneers have played better since then. The Buccaneers are averaging 30.8 ppg while allowing 20.6 ppg this season. They have a 82-point differential this season. The Saints defense has not been good this year as they have allowed 28.1 ppg this season. Tom Brady is having a great bounce back season. He has thrown for 2,189 yards with 20 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions this season.

              Prediction: Buccaneers win 38-31

              Monday Night Football

New England Patriots [2-5] at New York Jets [0-8]

               TV: ESPN

Time: 8:15 PM ET/7:15 PM CT

               Prediction: Jets win 23-21
