Buffalo Bills Game Reviews Week 3: Bills smash the previously undefeated Commanders

The Bills were dominated for the 2nd week in a row. They have outscored their opponents in the last 2 games 75-13 since the Week 1 loss. The running game for the Bills was good again this week against a good Commanders defense.

                   Positives

                   The Bills offensive line

Another good game from the Bills offensive line. They allowed zero sacks and in the last 2 games allowed just 2 sacks. The rushing attack is really good. The Bills rushed for 168 yards on 33 attempts averaging 5.1 yards per carry. The Commanders run defense was really good coming into the game. Chase Young, Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne and Montez Sweat were all held in check today.

James Cook is our star running-back

James Cook rushed for 98 yards on 15 carries today. He has rushed for 267 yards so far this season. He is our No.1 running-back we been looking for in the last 5 years. James Cook also caught 2 passes for 14 yards. We finally don't have to have Josh Allen be our running game this year.

                     Defense dominates

The Bills defense forced 5 turnovers with 4 interceptions and a pick-six from A.J Epenesa. They also got 9 sacks in this game and we are going to need that against the Dolphins next week. Leonard Floyd was good in this game. He has 2 sacks in this game and put pressure on Sam Howell. Terrel Bernard flew all over the field again in this game. He got his 2nd interception on the year in this game. Tre'Davious White looked like his old self in this game before the injury in 2020.

                   Negatives

                  The run defense

The run defense allowed 8.1 yards per carry in this game. We got ahead big so the Commanders had to abanded the run. Brian Robinson Jr had 70 yards on just 10 carries. Our run defense has got to be better next week against the Dolphins. The Dolphins have Rasheem Mostart who is capable of getting big yards next week so the run defense has to be cleaned up.

                   Perspective

Much like last week more positives and negatives this week. The Bills rushing attack is 5th in the NFL and it's not due to Josh Allen. James Cook has 267 yards this year to lead the Bills rushing attack. That is encouraging because in the last 5 years the Bills had to rely on Josh Allen in the run game. Josh Allen has cut down on the turnovers had he has just 1 interception in the last 2 games. The Bills have an opportunity to end the Dolphins hype train next week.
