Buffalo Bills 2023 Game Reviews Week 7: Time to worry about this Bills team

  

               It's time to worry about this Bills team. We have now lost to the Jets and the Patriots this season along with struggling with the Giants last week. With games coming up against elite to good teams like the Bengals, Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Chargers and Dolphins this could easily be a 8-win team.   

                    Positives  

                    Other pass catchers got involved 

                    We got other production from pass catchers other than Stefon Diggs. Dalton Kincaid had 8 catches for 75 yards along with Khalili Shakir had 4 catches for 35 yards. Stefon Diggs did have 6 catches for 58 yards and a touchdown. Josh Allen had 265 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception this game.  

                     Negatives 

                     Offense got off to another slow start 

                     We only score 10 points in the last 3 games in the 1st half. Our offense got off to a slow start and get came back and bite us. I hope this is a wake-up call for this offense and we get off to a fast start against the Buccaneers on Thursday Night. We were down 13-3 at the half in this game and that hurt us in this game. 

                       Defense played it's worse game of the year 

                       The Patriots came into this game averaging 12 ppg a game which was worse in the NFL. They score 29 points in this game. Mac Jones had 272 yards passing with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions which is his best game of the year. The run defense was good, but it didn't matter when we couldn't stop the pass. We had 1 sack in this game when we led the NFL in sacks with 24.  

                      We need to stop beating ourselves 

                      We had 9 penalties in this game for 46 yards with an interception early in the game. We had a penalty that took away a touchdown from Dawson Knox that would had cut the lead at the time to 10-7. We missed a 42-yard field goal that would had cut the lead to 13-6 going into half-time. Tyler Bass has missed 3 out of the last 4 field goals which is starting to worry me. 

                      Perspective 

                     I hope this loss is a wake-up call for this team and they bounce back and crush the Buccaneers on Thursday Night. You can't start slow for 3 games in a row and expect to win games. I'm worry about this team because we play teams like the Buccaneers, Bengals, Jets, Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Chargers and Dolphins now in 7 of the next 9 games. The Patriots game in Week 17 is obviously not a gimmie considering we just lost to the Patriots today and the Broncos game is not a gimmie in Week 10. I think one more loss and changes to the coaching staff really need to be made. This is not a playoff contender right now let alone a Super Bowl contender.
