Buffalo Bills 2023 Rant: I've seen enough of Sean McDermott as we lose another close game

It's time for Sean McDermott to go as I've seen enough. We are 7-15 in one-score games since 2020 under Sean McDermott. We are 2-6 this year in one-score games which is on Sean McDermott. He coaches not to lose and he shouldn't because he has Josh Allen.

I feel bad for Josh Allen

At this point I wouldn't blame Josh Allen if he demanded a trade because he deserves so much better. He has given us the lead in 4 different times this year alone and only manage to win once in that ugly win against the Giants in Week 6. Josh Allen put us ahead to beat New England, Denver and Philadelphia only to lose all 3 of those games by lousy defense and terrible game management by Sean McDermott. Josh Allen had 420 total yards on offense by himself with 4 total touchdowns. He did everything he could to win us the game at Philadelphia against a 9-1 Eagles team.

Lousy Game Management by Sean McDermott

This guy constantly burns timeouts in the worst spots. We could had 3 timeouts at the end of the game in Regulation with 20 seconds to go. We could had gone down the field quickly with Josh Allen as our Quarter-Back to kick a game-winning with Tyler Bass, but no he burns 2 timeouts instead and he had to kneel on the ball to go to overtime instead. We also should had gone for the touchdown in overtime meaning going for it on 4th down. Going back to the Kansas City game in 2021 we should had gone for 2-point conversation when we took a 33-31 lead. It would had put us up 35-31 with 13 seconds left. There would had been no way Patrick Mahomes would had gone down the field to score a touchdown with 13 seconds left.

               Perspective

Sean McDermott is this generation's Marty Schottenhemier. Every time we get into a big game Sean McDermott plays not to lose. Marty used to do the same thing when he was the coach for the Browns, Chiefs and Chargers. We shouldn't be playing not to lose when we got a franchise Quarter-Back in Josh Allen. Sean McDermott can be a good team builder just like Marty Schottenhemier was, but when it comes time to take that next step and that's to win a Super Bowl they are not the guy. Sean McDermott is not the guy to lead us to a Super Bowl. I hope we don't make the playoffs and finish the season 9-8 so we can fire Sean McDermott. The Eagles are a prime example on what happens when you play to win not to lose.
