AEW Double or Nothing 2019 Scorecard: Jon Moxley changes the Game

Here is My 1st Ever AEW Double or Nothing Scorecard. Jon Moxley [formally known as Dean Ambrose] showed up tonight and changed the game. He is a star and that is a big score for AEW. This was a good ppv. I will score the Pre-Shows which I normally don't do. That's how good this ppv was.

              1-Terrible

              2-Below Average

              3-Average

              4-Good

              5-Instant Classic

              Pre-Show

Adam Page won by last eliminating MJF [21-Man Casino Battle Royale-No.1 Contender's Match for the AEW World Championship]

Thoughts: This was a decent match and that's how far I'll go with it. It is a Battle Royal and I'm not gonna give it that much credit. This Battle Royale did mean something as the Winner got a future AEW World Championship title shot.

              Match Score: 3

              Kip Sabian defeated Sammy Guevara

Thoughts: This was a good match for a pre-show. Kip Sabian and Sammy Guevara gave us a good pre-show match. Pre-show matches usually aren't very good, but AEW did a good job for people thinking about buying the PPV.

                Match Score: 4

                Main Card

SoCal Uncensored defeated Strong Hearts [Six-Man Tag Team Match]

Thoughts: This was a good tag team match to begin the night. Socal Uncensored and Strong Hearts were on their game in the Six-Man Tag Team. I usually don't care about Six-Man Tag Team matches, but this one was good.  The match had a botch production as it went blackout on TV during the match.

                 Match Score: 4

Britt Baker defeated Nyla Rose, Kylie Rose and Awesome Kong [Fatal 4-Way Match]

Thoughts: This Women's match was decent, but not great. Britt Baker and Kylie Rose were good in this match. Awesome Kong was barely in the match and she got a pop. AEW will step up their Women's Division in time, but for right now it is decent. AEW needs to get more stars in the Women's Division.

                  Match Score: 3

Best Friends defeated Angelico and Jake Evans

Thoughts: This was an instant classic until the ending when a confusing because the Super Mash Brothers came out and no one knew who they were. The crowd was chanting "Who are you?" Best Friends and Angelico & Jake Evans both left it out there tonight in the tag team match.

                   Match Score: 4

Hikaru Shida, Riho Abe and Ryo Mizunami defeated Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki and Emi Sakura [Six-Woman Tag Team Match]

Thoughts: The Six-Woman Tag Team match was decent. The blackout during this match ruined it for me. All 6 Women gave us a good match, but it was a Six-Woman Tag Team match which why it was decent for me.

                     Match Score: 3

                     Cody defeated Dustin

Thoughts: This was the match of the night. Both Cody and Dustin left it out there in the ring tonight. Dustin gave it all that he had tonight along with Cody. Dustin was bleeding throughout this match, but yet he kept going tonight. He really wanted to win this match. Cody also wanted to win this match. You had both guys that wanted to win this match. This match had no loser in My opinion even though Dustin lost. The story was told beautifully in this match. I also like the post-match when Cody hugged his brother Dustin. This is easily the match of the year in Wrestling.

                       Match Score: 5

The Unveil of the AEW World Championship

Thoughts: Bret Hart showing up to unveil the AEW World Championship was a surprise tonight. It was a good segment because Bret Hart showed up. MJF did cut a great promo before the Unveiling of the AEW World Championship on Adam Page until Jungle Boy and Johnny Havoc showed up.

                         Segment Score: 4

The Young Bucks [C] defeated The Lucha Bros [AAA World Tag Team Championship]

Thoughts: This was the best tag team match I've seen all year. Both the Young Bucks and Lucha Bros left it out there in the ring tonight. The Young Bucks and Lucha Bros showed they are the best Tag Teams in the World tonight. The Young Bucks and Lucha Bros showed heart as they both were injured at the end of the match. The Young Bucks found a way to win tonight despite getting everything they could handle from The Lucha Bros.

                        Match Score: 5

                        Main Event

Chris Jericho defeated Kenny Omega [No.1 Contender's Match for the AEW World Championship]

Thoughts: The match itself was a let down even though it got all the hype. It still was a good match because it was Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. They did give everything they had tonight, but I wanted to see more from these two. The post-match gives this the instant classic score because Jon Moxley showed up tonight. This is a game-changer for AEW as they needed a pop to get their organization going. Jon Moxley beat up Kenny Omega after the match which will likely lead to a match at their PPV.

                          Match Score: 5

AEW Double or Nothing 2019 PPV Score: 4.4

Overview: This was the best ppv I've seen in a long time. The production was iffy at the beginning of the night which is a negative and if they want people to pay $49.95 they need to give a better production. This felt like a big PPV because Jim Ross called the PPV. Every time there is a big event he should be at the call. Cody and Dustin gave us great emotion and story telling throughout the match. The Young Bucks and Lucha Bros delivered on their tag team match. Bret Hart showed up tonight which was a shocker. The biggest shocker tonight was Jon Moxley [formally known as Dean Ambrose] showed up. This is a game-changer for AEW because Jon Moxley is a young star that they can build around. Shame on the WWE for not making Jon Moxley a Superstar. AEW needs to make it on television for them to be successful, but signing Jon Moxley is a start.
