Atlanta Braves Playoff Reviews Game 1 NLDS: Offense flops in Game 1

The Braves are supposed to have the best offense in baseball, but it didn't look like it last night as they got shutout at home. Losing Game 1 in NLDS and NLWC series has become a bad habit since 1998 NLCS. They are 4-14 in Game 1 of the NLDS and NLWC series since 1998 and I'm counting the 2020 Wild Card Series which 16-teams made the playoffs that year due to COVID shortened season.

                    Positives

                    Spencer Strider dominated

If there was one positive in this game is that Spencer Strider was dominant in this game. He held the high-powered Phillies offense to 2 runs and struck out 8 batters through 7 innings. The bullpen did good in this game too. When you allow 3 runs you should win the game. Spencer Strider deserve better has he pitched well enough to win Game 1.

                   Negatives

Offense did not show up in Game 1

This offense has been good all year and good all year against this Phillies team, but decided to pick Game 1 of the NLDS to not show up. We were 0 for 5 with RISP in this game. We had a the bases-loaded and runners on 1st and 3rd in back-to-back innings and did not score. Ronald Acuna needs to be our best player because Bryce Harper has been the Phillies best player in the last 2 postseasons.

                   Perspective

Game 2 is a much win tomorrow night with Max Fried going on the mound. We have to find a way to score runs off of Zach Wheeler. Allowing just 3 runs should be enough to win a postseason game. When we get opportunities with RISP tomorrow night we have to take advantage of them something we didn't do last night.
